A case has been filed in Noakhali's Kompaniganj over the clash between two factions of the Awami League on Tuesday. The police filed the case against 248 people by mentioning the names of 98 people around 12:30 pm on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, 28 people arrested in the operation have been arrested in the case. Companiganj Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Jahedul Haque said Sub-Inspector (SI) Zakir Hossain had filed a case against 98 people for obstructing government work and attacking police.
Besides, 28 people were detained in different places of the upazila on Wednesday after the incident. Several cocktails, indigenous weapons including iron rods used in fighting were recovered from them.
In the meantime, their arrest has been shown in the case. Besides, another 150 unidentified persons have been accused in the case. Meanwhile, the situation in Basurhat has been tense since the clashes.
Due to section 144 issued by the upazila administration in the municipality area, the presence of common people in the market is very low. Besides, most of the shops in Basurhat Bazar are closed.
