A protest rally was held in Noakhali's Kompaniganj demanding trial of journalist Borhan Uddin's murder and expulsion of Basurhat municipality mayor Quader Mirza. The rally was held at Tek Bazar on Monday afternoon under the leadership of former Upazila Parishad chairman and former district Awami League organizing secretary Mizanur Rahman Badal.
The speakers said that Quader Mirza has been making various insults against the central leaders including local Awami League, Juba League and Chhatra League for the last two months, especially our leader Obaidul Quader.
They strongly condemned and protested and demanded his immediate expulsion from the party. Former chairman of Kompaniganj Upazila Parishad Mizanur Rahman Badal, chairman of Char Elahi Union Abdur Razzak, nephew of Road Transport and Bridges Minister Fakhrul Islam Rahat, former general secretary of Thana Chhatra League Mahabub Rashid spoke. Many including Monju, Union Awami League leader Mahbubur Rahman and Awami League leader Fakhrul Islam Sabuj.
