Mohammedan captain Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for three matches for violating the code of conduct in the Abahani-Mohammedan match. Besides, he will have to pay a fine of Tk 5 lakh. CCDM chief Kazi Inam Ahmed announced the punishment at a press conference held at the residence of BCB president Nazmul Hasan at Gulshan in the capital on Saturday evening. Shakib Al Hasan has accepted the punishment. In this case, there will be no further hearing.

Shakib broke the two-point stump in protest of the umpire's decision in the Dhaka Premier League match against Abahani on Friday. That is why he was punished. During his bowling in the Abahani-Mohammedan match, Shakib made an LBW appeal against Abahani captain Mushfiqur Rahim.

But he kicked the stump without getting any response from the umpire. The umpire stopped the game when it rained in the next over. The world's best all-rounder got angry and pulled the stumps again. Then on the way back to the dressing room, he was seen looking at the gallery and making indecent gestures. At that time, Abahani coach Khaled Mahmud Sujan left the dressing room and proceeded towards Mohammedan.

The former also rushed away. Later, the cricketers of the two teams left with the two of them. Later, Shakib went to Abahani's dressing room and apologized to Sujan.

He also apologized for the misconduct on the field through social media.
