Indian variants of coronavirus have been identified in the country. So far, four corona patients of Indian type have been found. The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IDCR) said on Saturday. Earlier, on February 6, a South African strain of coronavirus was found in Bangladesh.

A team from the Genomic Research Laboratory of the Bangladesh Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) confirmed that the strain was found in a sample collected from the body of a 58-year-old woman in Banani, Dhaka. Another new strain of coronavirus was found in the bodies of six people who came to Bangladesh from the United Kingdom on January 5, the IEDCR said.

This new type of mutation was introduced in the UK last December.
