The period of 'comprehensive lockdown' across the country has been extended till April 28 to prevent the transmission of coronavirus. A notification to this effect was issued by the Cabinet Division on Tuesday.

Given the current state of coronavirus infection, the deadline for imposing all previous restrictions, including international special flight operations and the continuation of banking activities, has been extended from midnight on April 21 to midnight on April 28, the notification said.

It is to be noted that the first phase of the one-week lockdown started from April 5 to prevent the transmission of the second wave of coronavirus in the country, which continued till April 13.

The lockdown was extended to April 28 before the deadline.
