India thanks Bangladesh for offering medical assistance in coping with the coronavirus epidemic.
The country also expressed hope that Bangladesh and India would overcome the epidemic together. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka thanked Bangladesh in a tweet on Thursday.
"Thanks to Dhaka for expressing Bangladesh's solidarity with India and for extending a message of co-operation to India in this time of crisis. Bangladesh has offered to provide medical equipment to India on an urgent basis," the tweet said. Earlier in the morning, the foreign ministry had said that Bangladesh wanted to send medicine and medical equipment to India on an emergency basis considering the dire situation of coronavirus in India. According to a press release, Bangladesh has 10,000 injectable anti-viral-oral. Anti-viral, 30,000 PPE and a few thousand zinc, calcium, vitamin C and other necessary tablets are proposed to be sent.
The statement said the Bangladesh government is deeply saddened by the loss of life in India due to the Corona epidemic.
Bangladesh stands with its close neighbor India in this critical moment and stands ready to provide assistance in every possible way to save lives.
Bangladesh is keen to provide more assistance to India if necessary.
