Barrister Ziaur Rahman Khan, a former Member of Parliament and advisor to the BNP chairperson, is no more (Inna Lillahi ... Rajyun).
He died at Tejgaon Impulse Hospital in the capital at 10pm on Saturday. He was 76 years old.
He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter. His cousin Rakibur Rahman Khan Farhad said his cousin died of a heart attack on Saturday night after receiving a positive report last Thursday.
He said he was admitted to Impulse Hospital in Dhaka last Wednesday with various ailments including shortness of breath. Barrister Ziaur Rahman Khan was elected MP twice in 1991, 1996 and four times in 2001 from Dhaka-20 (Dhamrai) constituency with the nomination of BNP.
His village home is in Balia village of Dhamrai upazila. He lived in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Dhaka-20 Awami League MP Benazir Ahmed mourned the death of Barrister Ziaur Rahman Khan.
