A leader of Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy (NLD) has died in police custody.
The deceased was identified as Khin Mong Lat, president of the NLD's Yangon branch. He was arrested during anti-government protests in Yangon on Saturday.
He was then taken into police custody. He died there. Khin Mong Lat's body was handed over to his family on Sunday.
Witnesses said he was beaten during his arrest on Saturday. Police in riot gear stormed a rally in Yangon on Saturday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.
Since the coup, Myanmar's security forces have arrested more than 1,700 people. The military seized power in a military coup on February 1.
Aung San Suu Kyi and most of the NLD leaders were detained. Protests erupted across Myanmar demanding Suu Kyi's release and against the military government.
At least 50 people have been killed in protests against the army government since the coup. One policeman was also killed.
