People from all walks of life, including leaders of various political organizations, have paid their last respects to BNP standing committee member and former minister Moudud Ahmed. The bodies of the veteran politicians were laid to rest at the central Shaheed Minar around 9:15 am on Friday. Later, various political parties including BNP, Nagarik Oikya, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (Jagpa), NDP and common people paid homage to Moudud Ahmed with flowers at his coffin. At that time, BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said, Struggled.

He has contributed for the welfare of the country and the nation from different governments at different times. By losing him we have lost a prominent, colorful politician. The nation lost a veteran politician. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party lost a guardian. The central leaders of the Awami League were absent from the tribute ceremony at the Shaheed Minar. When asked about this, Tawfiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury, energy adviser to the prime minister and brother of Moudud Ahmed, said, "There can be differences of opinion in politics. But it should not be like this. Trustee of the Public Health Center and National Unity Front leader Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury said, 'Moudud Ahmed's name cannot be omitted when writing about the expatriate government during the liberation war.

We lost a national hero. At that time we paid homage to Moudud Ahmed with coffin flowers - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Vice Chairman Major General (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed, Advisor to the Chairperson Abdus Salam, BNP Leader Aman Ullah Aman, Habibur Rahman, Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Jagpar unit president Lutfar Rahman, BNP publicity secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, executive committee member Nazim Uddin Alam, Muktijoddha Dal president Ishtiaq Aziz, general secretary Sadek Khan, Jatiya Party chairman Mostafa Jamal Haider and others. Mudud Ahmed's janaza was held in the premises.

After the Janaza, Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, Justice Nuruzzaman, Justice Syed Ziaul Karim, Justice Miftah Uddin Chowdhury, Justice SM Moniruzzaman, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Sham Rezaul Karim and two former General Secretaries of the Supreme Court Bar Association Mamt Uddin paid their respects. O Monir Ullah, BNP Vice Chairman Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and Shahjahan Omar, Mahbub Uddin, former General Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association. Also with Nationalist Bar Association Forum, Moudud Ahmed and Associates, Law Reporters Forum and Feni-Noakhali Lawyers Forum Moudder Ahmed. Later, another janaza of Moudud Ahmed was held in front of the BNP central office in Naya Paltan at around 11am. There, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other leaders of the party took part in the janaza.

At the end of Janaza, Moudud Ahmed's coffin was covered with party flag. Later, Mirza Fakhrul paid homage to party chairperson Khaleda Zia and acting chairperson Tarique Rahman with flowers. After that, the leaders of the BNP and its affiliates paid homage to Moudud Ahmed with flowers at his coffin. His janaza will be held at Kabirhat Degree College ground in Noakhali at 2.30 pm and at Basurhat Companyganj Government Mujib College ground at 4 pm.

Moudud Ahmed's body will be buried next to his parents' grave at the family graveyard after Janaza in front of his residence (Manikpur Companyganj) at 5.30 pm. Moudud Ahmed died on Tuesday (March 16th) evening while undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth in Singapore. He was taken to Singapore for treatment on February 1. His body arrived in the country from Singapore on a flight of Bangladesh Biman on Thursday evening. His wife Hasna Jasimuddin was with the coffin at the time.
