Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have signed six Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen cooperation in various fields. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed after a bilateral meeting between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday. Memorandum of Understanding between the Bangladesh Department of Technical Education and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka (TVEC) on exchange of technical skills.
Other MoUs include assistance in training of Bangladeshi nurses and health workers in Sri Lanka, cooperation between Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies and Lakshan Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies, and Bangladesh Between 2021 and 2025. State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell and Sri Lanka's Minister for Rural Housing and Construction and Building Materials Industries Indika signed the requested Youth Development Memorandum. The MoU was signed between Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) and Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy (SLCARP). Abdur Razzak and Sri Lankan Batik, Handloom Fabrics and Local Apparel Products Minister Dayashiri Jayasokara.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bangladesh Department of Technical Education and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) of Sri Lanka. Dipu Moni and Prof. GL Perris, Minister of Education of Sri Lanka. Minister of State for External Affairs Shahriar Alam and Minister for Regional Cooperation of Sri Lanka Tharaka Balasuria signed the agreement on cooperation and relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa witnessed the signing ceremony. Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and visiting Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa led the delegations on behalf of their respective countries. Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in Dhaka on a two-day visit.
