On this day in 1971, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman called for the freedom struggle of Bangladesh while standing in a huge crowd at the historic racecourse ground (now Suhrawardy Udyan). On 7 March 1971, Bangabandhu's provocative declaration gave the Bengali nation the direction of independence. After that the freedom-loving people of the country started preparing for the final battle from house to house. At this thunderous sound of Bangabandhu, the Bengali nation became excited with the joy of the impending great liberation. For centuries, the exploited and deprived Bengalis have stepped forward with the determination of the desired liberation. After Bangabandhu's March 7th speech, Bengalis of all walks of life, including students, peasants and workers, made preparations for the War of Liberation.

Responding to Bangabandhu's call, the Bengali nation won the 9-month armed liberation war against the Pakistani aggressors and snatched victory on 16 December 1971. Through this victory, independent and sovereign Bangladesh was born on the world map. Bangabandhu's speech on the historic 7th March roared the sea of ​​people. The red-green flag emblazoned on the map of Bangladesh fluttered in the drunken spring air with the arrogance of millions of people chanting slogans.

The thunderbolt of oaths rises in the sky. On that day Bangabandhu ascended the stage at 3:20 pm. Fagun's sun is still on his head. When he came on stage, he waved to the crowd. Then the whole Maidan became abuzz with the slogan of millions of Bengalis, 'Your country is my country, Bangladesh is Bangladesh, your leader is my leader Sheikh Mujib, Sheikh Mujib'. He began his speech in a low voice, "My brothers, I have appeared before you today with a heavy heart."

Then, standing in the sea of ​​people, the poet of the epic of Bengali and Bengali independence declared - this time the struggle is for our liberation, this time the struggle is for freedom. He called for the repeal of martial law, the transfer of power to elected representatives of the people, an end to shelling and killings, the return of troops to barracks, and the formation of judicial commissions to investigate killings in various places.

Bangabandhu said, my brothers, I do not want the prime ministership, I want human rights. The greed of the Prime Minister could not take me. Couldn't hang on the gallows. You brought me out of the conspiracy case with blood. I said in this racecourse that day, I will repay the blood debt with blood. Even today I am ready to repay the blood debt with blood.

"I would like to say that from today, courts, high courts, the Supreme Court, offices, courts and educational institutions will be closed indefinitely," he said. No employee should go to the office.
