HT Imam (Hossain Tawfiq Imam), political advisor to the Prime Minister, was laid to rest at Banani Cemetery in the capital.
Before burial, HT Imam was given a guard of honor. After the second phase of Janaza on Thursday afternoon, he was buried at Banani Cemetery.
From 12 noon to 3:30 pm, everyone was kept at the central Shaheed Minar to pay their respects. His second namaz-e-janaza was performed at Gulshan Central Jame Mosque (Azad Mosque) at 5 pm. He died at 1:30 pm on Wednesday (March 3) at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital.
Born in 1939, HT Imam was 82 years old.
