Foreign Minister. Ake Abdul Momen said that the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary and golden jubilee of independence would be just a celebration.
During this visit, the two neighboring countries do not want to raise unresolved issues. He told reporters after attending the Education Expo at a hotel in the capital on Friday. The Foreign Minister further said that Narendra Modi is coming to Dhaka, which is very good news.
Not only him, but four other heads of state and government from South Asia are coming to Dhaka this month. Heads of state and government of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives are also coming. Momen said those who want to know whether there will be an MoU during Modi's visit are 'il elements'.
He said the Prime Minister of India is coming to celebrate the golden jubilee of our independence, the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, the top leaders of four more Asian countries are coming - this is the biggest achievement. We are happy to have very distinguished guests at our festival. The Foreign Minister said that many major issues with India have been resolved through earlier discussions.
The issues that are still there will be resolved gradually through discussion. But it is not reasonable to discuss these issues during our visit to celebrate the festival. In reply to another question, he said that during his visit, the Prime Minister of India will visit not only Dhaka but also several places outside Dhaka.
He will visit Bangabandhu's tomb at Tungipara in Gopalganj and Satkhira and Orakandi. Momen said states or heads of state who are not coming have also sent messages.
The message was sent by the President of China, the President of France and the Prime Minister of Canada. The essence of their message is that they are with us on the golden jubilee of independence and have also taken the celebration of Bangabandhu's birth centenary with utmost respect.
