Civil society is marching towards the Prime Minister's Office to demand repeal of the Digital Security Act and to protest the death of writer Mushtaq Ahmed in jail. They gathered in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Wednesday morning.

Police barricaded the front of the press club as they marched towards the PM's office at the end of the rally. However, the protesters broke through the barricades and marched forward. They are marching to demand the repeal of the Digital Security Act, the investigation into the death of author Mushtaq Ahmed and the maximum punishment for the culprits. Jafrullah Chowdhury is leading the march.

He is accompanied by Mahmudur Rahman Manna, convener of Citizens Unity, Shahidul Alam, eminent photographer, Nurul Haque Nur, former VD of Dakusar, Rafiqul Islam Bablu, president of Bhasani Anusari Parishad, Rafiqul Islam Bablu, Naeem Jahangir of Muktijoddha Command Secretary General Council, Jonayed Bela) Executive Director Syeda Rizwana Chowdhury. At present they are moving forward beyond Shahbag.
