Historic Flag Hoisting Day has been celebrated at Dhaka University. On this occasion, following the hygiene rules, a limited program was organized at Battala adjacent to Kalabhavan of the university on Tuesday. At the beginning of the program, the chief guest was Vice Chancellor Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman hoisted the national flag.
At this time the teachers and students of the music department performed the national anthem. Dean of the Faculty of Arts and the coordinator of the program, Professor. Abu Md. Delwar Hossain delivered the welcome address.
At the time, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor. ASM Maksud Kamal, Treasurer Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary of the Teachers Association Professor. Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, Dean of different faculties, Provost of different halls, Chairman of different departments, Proctors and leaders of various associations of the University were present. The historic event of hoisting the flag at Dhaka University signaled the formation of our independent and sovereign nation-state.
Dhaka University has made a unique contribution to the creation of the nation-state. He said the 2021 birth centenary of Mujib, the golden jubilee of independence and the centenary of Dhaka University are being celebrated.
So this is a unique ordinary year. The Vice-Chancellor called upon the new generation to develop as liberal, non-communal and humane people with the basic philosophy and spirit of independence.
