BNP standing committee member and former minister Barrister Moudud Ahmed has died (Innalillahi ... Rajyun). He died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore around 6:30 pm on Tuesday.
He was 80 years old. Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP chairperson's press wing, confirmed this. Moudud Ahmed fell ill on December 29 and was admitted to the CCU of Ever Care Hospital in the capital.
On 13 January he was transferred from CCU to the cabin. Later, when his condition improved, he was brought home from the hospital on January 20. When his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to the hospital on January 21.
Moudud was taken to Singapore on a Bangladesh Biman flight at 12 midnight on February 1 for advanced treatment.
He was admitted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. Barrister Moudud Ahmed was born on 24 May 1940 in Noakhali.
