In Nangalkot of Comilla, 12 shops were burnt to ashes. The accident took place at 9:15 pm on Saturday at Srihasya Mor Bazar in Jodda East Union of the upazila. The traders of the market said that a sudden fire started from the grocery shop of Main Uddin.
The fire spread to nearby shops. Upon receiving the news, two units of fire service from nearby Laksam went to the spot and brought the fire under control.
Nangalkot Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Lamia Saiful said necessary steps would be taken to determine the extent of damage to the traders.
