In the fourth phase, polling was held in 55 municipalities of the country on Sunday. This time too the ruling Awami League candidates are triumphant. The Awami League candidate has won in 46 municipalities.
And BNP has won only one. Independent candidates have won in four municipalities, three of whom are Awami League rebel candidates.
Besides, the results have been postponed in Damudya municipality of Shariatpur. As of this writing, no private results have been obtained from Akkelpur in Joypurhat and Naohata in Rajshahi. Awami League candidate is ahead in Narsingdi municipality.
Only BNP's Tajkin Ahmed Chishti has won in the municipality.

Hasan Qadir Ganu in Alamdanga, Nur Uddin Al Mamun in Chaugachha, Kamruzzaman Bachchu in Bagharpara, Nimai Chandra Sarkar in Bagerhat, Lutfur Rahman in Kanaighat in Sylhet, Chunarulbam in Habiganj. Islam, Daudkandi Naeem Yusuf Sheikh, Chandpur Kachua Nazmul Alam Swapan, Faridganj Abul Khair Patwari, Noakhali Chatkhil. Nizamuddin Bipul, Nurul Haque Chowdhury in Sonaimuri, M Mejbahuddin Mizu in Laxmipur, Md. Satkania in Chittagong. Jobayer (unopposed), Mahbubul Alam Khoka in Chandnaish, Ayub Babul in Patiya, Shamsul Haque in Matiranga of Khagrachhari, Mohammad Islam Baby in Bandarban Sadar, Bipul Chandra Hawladar in Kalapara of Patuakhali, Shabilal in Barish. Mohammad Ali Lal in Sherpur Sadar, Mohammad Ali Lal in Sreebardi, Rakibul Haque in Tangail, Nurunnabi Sarkar in Kalihati, Shasdhar Sen in Mymensingh, Moslemuddin in Rajganj, Moslemuddin in Hossainpur. Chief Manik, Abdus Salam at Mirkadim in Munshiganj, Nazrul Islam Khan at Netrokona Sadar and Shafiq Zaidi Robin at Melandha in Jamalpur. The last three are Awami League rebel candidates.
