Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is coming to the press conference on Saturday as she has received the final recommendation of the United Nations for the transition from a least developed country to a developed country. This information has been confirmed from the press wing of the Prime Minister's Office today.
The Prime Minister will join a virtual press conference at the end of the Prime Minister's Office from Ganobhaban at 4 pm tomorrow. It is to be noted that Bangladesh is facing a formal review by the United Nations in the second phase to get out of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
From 22 to 25 February, the UN Committee for Development Policy (CDP) held a triennial review meeting for LDCs.
In the second phase, the CDP reviewed whether Bangladesh had met the required criteria to exit the LDC.
A delegation led by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal represented Bangladesh.
