Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of writer and journalist Syed Abul Maqsood.

Syed Abul Maqsood passed away at Square Hospital in the capital this evening. He was 74 years old. Syed Nasif Maqsood, son of Syed Abul Maqsood, said that his father suddenly fainted in the afternoon. That's when he was taken to Square Hospital. He died there shortly after.
