In Kotalipara, 13 shops and houses were burnt in the fire.

The affected traders said that several lakh taka has been lost due to this.

The fire broke out at the Mahua intersection of Ghaghar Bazar in the upazila around 1.30pm on Saturday. Nazrul Islam, in-charge of Kotalipara Fire Station, said the fire started at around 1.30pm on Saturday.

As the shop houses were made of wood and tin, the fire spread around in an instant. Upon receiving the news, we rushed to the spot and with the help of the local people tried to control the fire for about 2 hours.

In the fire, Ibrahim's furniture shop, Babul Sheikh's drug store, Biplob Mollah's garage, Kamrul's hotel, Zahid's hotel, Mahbub's workshop, Sohag's hotel, Omar's furniture shop, Humayun's oil shop, Humayun's oil shop, Ramr's Thirteen shops, including a sweet shop, were burnt to ashes.

Most of the traders are doing business with loans from different banks. If the government does not cooperate with these affected traders, then the affected traders will have to sit in the way.
