In the next 3 to 4 years, there will be no onion crisis in the country, said Md. Asadullah, Director General (DG) of the Department of Agricultural Extension.

This was stated by the DG of the Department of Agriculture Md. Asadullah while inspecting the progress of onion cultivation at Sabuj Bangla Agricultural Farm in Bhola on Friday.

During the visit, a high level team visited the farm and explained the progress of high yielding onion production. UP Chairman Yanur Rahman Biplob Mollah set up a green Bengali agricultural farm on about 40 acres of land in Rajapur Union of Bhola Upazila.

Of this, high yielding onions are cultivated in 28 acres of land. More than 400 metric tonnes of onions are expected to be produced from the farm next month. DG Agriculture Extension Department DG Local UP Chairman and farmer Yanur Rahman told reporters after inspecting Biplob Mollah's farm, 'Biplob Mollah has spent about Rs 25 lakh on onion cultivation this season and Next month, he will be able to earn around Rs 75 lakh by selling these onions.

AKM Monirul Islam, Director, Department of Agricultural Extension, Md. Aftab Uddin, Additional Director, Department of Agriculture Extension, Barisal Region, Zahidul Alam, Director, Abu Md. Enayet Ullah, Director, Bhola were present on the occasion.
