Sajjad Hossain, office secretary of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal's central committee, said the death of imprisoned online writer Mushtaq Ahmed was unfortunate for the entire state and government.
The government and the administration cannot avoid responsibility for Mushtaq Ahmed's death in prison. He made the remarks in a statement on Friday. He said that although there were specific cases against him, his right to bail had been denied under the law.
Even after his release on bail, there was no difficulty in conducting the trial of the case filed against him.
Sajjad Hossain demanded bail for all journalists and writers detained under the Digital Security Act, including cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore.
