The BSF returned policeman Omar Farooq 21 hours after he was abducted from the Mominpara border area in Panchagarh. The BSF handed him over to the BGB after a flag meeting at the battalion level near the main pillar No. 753 of the Upazila Sadar at 6.30 pm on Monday. Later, the BGB handed over the policeman to the police. Panchagarh Additional Superintendent of Police Sudarshan Kumar Roy, BGB's Ghagra Border Outpost Company Commander Subedar Nurul Amin, Sadar Police OC (Investigation) Jamal Hossain were present at the time. Police arrested the member and beat him up and handed him over to BSF members at the Chanakya BSF camp in India.
Omar Farooq, a policeman arrested by the BSF, was in charge of security at the Panchagarh District Judge's Court. Panchagarh Sadar Police Station OC (Investigation) Jamal Hossain said Omar Farooq was a member of the district police.
We got him in the evening. He is being treated now as he is injured. The reason why he went to that border is being investigated.
