The BNP will hold divisional protests in Barisal demanding fair elections across the country. The party wants to start a neutral election movement from Barisal.
To this end, they have organized a rally in Barisal on February 18 with the participation of BNP mayoral candidates across the country.
Although they applied for three possible venues for the rally, they did not receive any green signal from the administration until Tuesday.
However, the BNP has started a massive campaign to make the rally a success. The main responsibility of organizing the rally has fallen on Barisal Mahanagar BNP. Mahanagar BNP organized a press conference at the party office on Sadar Road at 11:30 am on Tuesday to give details of the rally. BNP vice chairman Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram will be the chief guest at the rally.
Mahanagar BNP president Mojibur Rahman Sarwar will preside over the rally. Shahadat Hossain, Khulna mayoral candidate Nazrul Islam Monju and Rajshahi mayoral candidate Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul.
After the press conference, Advocate Mojibur Rahman Sarwar, President of Mahanagar BNP, distributed leaflets in different areas of the city including Sadar Road to make the protest rally on February 18 a success.
Acting General Secretary of the party Zia Uddin Sikder Zia and North District BNP President Mejbauddin Farhad and others were present at the time.
