Alhaj Golam Kibria Liton, joint general secretary of the district Awami League, has been elected mayor of Sherpur municipality for the third time.
As of the writing of this report, the Commission sources said that the results of 34 out of 35 centers have been received. The results of the remaining one Kasba Mollapara (1,618) polling stations are being delayed due to technical (EVM) problems.
As a result, Awami League nominated candidate Liton (Naika) got 29,636 votes in 34 constituencies. Rafiqul Islam Aadhar (jug) got 7,255 votes, independent (Awami League rebel) Arif Reza (spoon) got 3,520 votes.
