Founder and President of the private development agency 'Asha'. Shafiqul Haque Chowdhury is no more (Inna Lillahi ... Rajyun). He died at Square Hospital in the capital on Thursday night.
He was 72 years old. He is survived by his wife and three sons. Safiqul Haque Chowdhury was an advisor to the former caretaker government.
He will be buried at Mirpur Intellectual Cemetery. Safiqul Haque Chowdhury was born in 1949 in Narpati village of Chunarughat police station in Habiganj. He holds a Bachelor's (Honors) and an MA from the Department of Sociology, Dhaka University.
He is also the founder of Asha University Bangladesh, Asha Mats and Hope for the Poorest. He has also served as the President of Asha International.
He was an adviser on agriculture, youth and sports to the former caretaker government.
