Police have arrested eight people while preparing for a robbery in Chittagong city. They were arrested from Sheikh Mujib Road area under Double Mooring Police Station on Thursday night (February 11). The arrested are: Tajul Islam Prakash Taju (36), Tushar Hossain (25), Md. Tapu (22), Hayat Mahmud Jibon (23), Anwar Hossain Babu (21), Nazmul Islam (28), Abdur Rahman Rana (20), Johnny Shah (32).
During the operation, a home-made gun, a cartridge and a sharp weapon were recovered from them. Double Mooring Police Station OC Mohammad Mohsin said the operation was carried out on the basis of information that an organized gang of robbers was stationed in the Sheikh Mujib Road area of the city.
During the operation, 8 robbers were arrested along with home-made firearms and sharp weapons. Cases have been filed against them in different police stations.
