Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujon has said that 10 to 12 thousand people will be recruited in Bangladesh Railway.
He said the recruitment may be notified this month. He said this while addressing a function at Railway House here on Thursday. In the first phase, we will recruit 10 to 12 thousand manpower together. We have taken that step.
I will train them after recruitment. We hope that in the next two to three years we will be able to rid ourselves of the allegations of manpower shortage in the railways. The railway minister said that the tracks are being further modernized.
We are working on the development of railways. The Minister inaugurated the development and mutual learning program of WASH management including construction or renovation of modern public toilets adjacent to the railway station. He said that eco-friendly WASH service activities will be conducted at the stations.
Railways and WaterAid have already reached an agreement in this regard. We have taken two projects at Kamalapur station, from there it will be gradually extended to other stations. Hasin Jahan, Country Director of WaterAid Bangladesh, Selim Reza, Secretary to the Ministry of Railways and Dhirendra Nath Majumder, Director General of Railways also spoke on the occasion.
