Former European Central Bank chief and economist Mario Draghi has been sworn in as Italy's new prime minister.
Following the fall of the former administration in January, Draghi formed a unity government with the major political parties. In the last week of last month, Giuseppe Conte announced his resignation as Italian prime minister.
Earlier, it was speculated that Conte might seek advice on forming a new government to fight the Corona epidemic in Italy. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi resigned in December last year.
Renzi planned to reform the constitution. He abruptly resigned after seeing the tragic defeat in the referendum on that plan.
Renzi resigned after only two and a half years in power.
