India wants good relations with Pakistan. India's foreign ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
However, the condition behind this is that it must create an environment free of militancy, hostility and conflict in Pakistan.
Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said so. He said it was Pakistan's responsibility to create such an environment.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan's Army Chief General Javed Bajwa also conveyed a message of peace. India and Pakistan need to resolve the long-standing issue of Jammu and Kashmir in a dignified and peaceful manner.
But India has always said that dialogue and terrorist activity cannot go hand in hand.
