The movement is going on for the second day in protest of the attack of the miscreants on the students of Barisal University.
The students left the road on Wednesday afternoon with a 48-hour ultimatum to meet the three-point demand after a 10-hour blockade in protest of the attack on transport workers at the Bobby Students' Mess in the city's Rupatali area on Tuesday night.
According to the sources of the students, if they do not accept their three-point demand within the pre-determined 48 hours, the highway will be blocked again. The peaceful sit-in program will be observed till these 48 hours. Besides, a meeting of the agitating students is scheduled to be held with the teachers' representatives of the university at 2 pm, said Mahmudul Hasan Tamal, the representative of the agitators.
The meeting will discuss whether to file a case against the attackers on Tuesday night, he said.
