Election Commission (EC) Secretary Humayun Kabir Khandaker has said that no death was desired in the recent 5th phase of municipal elections in Syedpur.
We are all sorry for this. He said this at a press conference held at the media center of the election building on Sunday evening. He said 29 municipalities, four upazila council by-elections and district council by-elections have been held.
Voting was not closed at any of the centers. In the hourly report sent by our Returning Officer and Monitoring Cell, we have come to understand that the election in the country has been held in a festive atmosphere. Regarding the death of a person in Syedpur, the Secretary said that no death is desired.
We are all sorry for that. Next to the Government Women's Degree College Center in Syedpur, away from the center, between two cars, a man named Chhotan Adhikari in Between 52 to 58; Was injured. He was rescued by police and taken to hospital, where he died.
There were no signs of injuries on his body. This is what was found in the inquest. There are no signs of injuries. If we know the cause of his death, we will be able to say if we get the autopsy report. There was a chase between the two candidates far away from the polling station.
At one point, the police rescued him. He added, "You can tell how the election went." I think the vote was good. The death toll, however, did not rise in any police firing. There are no signs of injuries on his body.
Now we can understand how this death happened only after an autopsy. The EC secretary said that if anyone rejects the election, it is his wish. He can do it.
If he complains to us, we will look into the matter. We have field level returning officers, we have law and enforcement agencies, we have district magistrates. So everyone sees law and order.
