Great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day have been celebrated in Germany. Today, Sunday at 11 am local time in front of the country's embassy in Bangladesh. The day was observed with the officials and employees of Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan Embassy, German and Berlin Awami League leaders and expatriates of all walks of life.
After that, the martyrs of the language movement and all the surviving language soldiers were honored with flowers at the temporary martyr's altar inside the embassy.
Later, the ambassadors and embassy officials read out the speeches of the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs in a brief discussion on the significance of the day. Later, Nazmun Nesa Piari, a German expatriate poet who recently won 21 medals, took part in the poetry lesson.
German and Berlin Awami League leaders Mizanur Khan, Masud Rahman, Noor Alam Siddiqui Rubel, Nuri Khan and many others also spoke on the occasion. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said, "It is very sad that Bengali schools are closed for the children of expatriate Bangladeshis in a country like Germany, so he will play a leading role in the development of Bengali language including opening of Bengali schools."
That is why he urged all Bangladeshi parents to come forward to provide pure Bengali language education to their children.
