The crowd of visitors is increasing every day to see the 'Allahu Chattar' built in Mithapukur of Rangpur.

99 names of Allah are being uttered through automatic sound system in the premises. A huge eye-catching pillar has been constructed by carving the adjective 'Allah 99'.

Around the square pillar, 99 adjectives of Allah are written from top to bottom with Arabic and Bengali pronunciation. Below is a square, surrounded by two levels of round altars. Although the artwork is not completed, people from far and wide are coming to see it, taking pictures.

Praise is spreading in the mouths of the people of Islam. Khoragachha UP Chairman. Asaduzzaman Asad took the initiative to build Allahu Chattar.

The construction work was inaugurated on September 9 last year. The height of this pillar, which is two feet by two feet square, is 27 feet. There are 99 names of Allah across 22 feet and ‘Allahu’ written five feet above. Every day people from different places come to see the pillar.

Dr. Aslam Mia said that the sight of the pillar with the adjective Allah has been erected at Ershad corner. A crowd of visitors has gathered at Ershad intersection. Asaduzzaman, the UP chairman who initiated the construction of the pillar, said last year it was decided to build a 'Allahu pillar' at the local Burajumma intersection at a cost of Tk 160,000 for the TR project.

But as the Burajumma junction is narrow and small, there is no initiative to build the pillar at Ershad junction thinking that it will not be a sight to behold. That is why we started the construction work of the pillar by evicting the illegal occupants of the turn. 'He added that the construction work has been started out of religious sentiments.

99 names of Allah Tayala will be pronounced here in 24 hours through automatic sound system with aesthetic lighting system. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mamun Bhuiyan said, the construction of the pillar with 99 adjectives of Allah is a commendable initiative.

It is hoped that the construction will reduce the crime rate in the area due to religious sentiments.
