England were bowled out for 134 in the first innings of the second Test. Hosts India, who scored 329 in the first innings, got a 195-run lead.

Wicketkeeper Ben Fox scored the highest 42 runs for the team. There was no batsman to accompany him. He had to leave the field unbeaten. Besides, opener Dominic Sibley scored 16 runs for England, Ben Stokes scored 18 runs in the middle order and Oli Stones scored 22 runs. Ravish Chandan Ashwin took five wickets for India from the first innings.

Besides, Ishant Sharma and Axar Patel took two wickets each. Earlier, Rohit Sharma played a remarkable 161-run innings for India in the first innings. Cheteshwar Pujara scored 21 runs in three overs. 67 runs came from Ajinkya Rahane's bat.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on 58 off seven fours and three sixes. Moin Ali took four wickets and Oli Stone three for England in the first innings.

Also Jack Leach took two and captain Joe Root picked up one wicket. In the meantime, India started batting in the second innings.
