Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the concerned including the Ministry of Education to review whether the environment has been created for the opening of the educational institution.
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said the Prime Minister had given the directive at a cabinet meeting on Monday. The secretary said this at a press conference at the secretariat after the cabinet meeting on Monday afternoon.
The cabinet meeting has been held virtually again. The educational institutions of the country have been closed for almost a year due to the coronavirus epidemic.
In this situation, it is necessary to review whether the environment has been created for the opening of educational institutions. An inter-ministerial meeting will be held in the next five to six days to review the matter, the cabinet secretary said.
The secretary said the prime minister had emphasized on vaccinating teachers, officials and employees against coronavirus before opening educational institutions.
But already the students are agitating to open residential halls in different universities.
Students are also protesting to open the hall on Monday. Students have even entered the halls of two universities.
