Five Bangladeshis have died in a road accident in Oman. They are all residents of Sandwip, Chittagong, Bangladesh. The accident took place on a road in Dukum, Oman around 6 am local time on Saturday. Several others were injured in the accident. The condition of two of the injured is critical. There were 10 passengers in the car involved in the accident.

9 of them are from Sandwip and one from Feni. All 10 victims were fishing in the Arabian Sea. At night they were fishing in the sea and returning home in the morning.

Most of them were asleep at the time of the accident. Zahirul Alam Majumder, deputy director of the Chittagong Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training, said Anwar Hossain, first secretary of the labor welfare wing of the Bangladesh embassy in Oman, said five Bangladeshi workers had been killed. All of them live in Sandwip.
