All-rounder Glenn Maxwell was a flop throughout the entire tournament last year. He could not pull the team to the Super Eight.

Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore has signed him for 14 crore 25 lakh Indian rupees. The auction of IPL 21 has started in Chennai at 3:30 pm Bangladesh time on Thursday. Maxwell's name was on set number 1 in the auction.

IPL fans were curious as to which team bought the Aussie star all-rounder and how much it was priced.

But he could not do justice to the price. Flops throughout the entire tournament. He could not pull the team to the Super Eight. That is why Maxwell faced severe criticism.

Criticizing him, former India opener Virender Sehwag said, "Why did Punjab add Maxwell to the team for Rs 100 million?" I do not understand that.

Sehwag commented that the price of this Aussie all-rounder in the next IPL should not be more than Rs 1 crore.

Ignoring Sehwag's remarks, Maxwell's base price stood at Rs 2 crore. Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings and Kohli's Bangalore started quarreling with him in the auction.

Later, Bangalore bought it for Rs 14.20 crore.
