Myanmar's military government is increasingly fighting in front of thousands of protesters on the country's streets demanding democracy.

The military junta has arrested another close associate of ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi. An official from Suu Kyi's party, the NLD, made the announcement on Thursday. On February 1, the military overthrew Myanmar's elected government and seized power.

Ruling party leader Aung San Suu Kyi was arrested. The country's president, Win Mint, has also been detained. The military claims that the election was rigged and that they will step down after a new election. He is also called Su Chir's right hand man.

The day before he pardoned the civilian government, he spoke harshly to the military. Ki Toe, a member of the NLD's information committee, said four people, including Kiao Tint, had been abducted on Wednesday night.

The former chief election commissioner has also been detained. However, no immediate response was received from the military junta.
