An old man named Amir Hossain (70) was killed when a truck hit him at Nilphamari. The accident took place on Monday (February 1) afternoon in front of Shanta Market on Domar-Chilahati road.
According to the locals, Aamir was returning home from the market by bicycle at around 4 pm. He died on the spot when he was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction. The truck was seized at the time.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Domar Police Station Mostafizur Rahman said the truck involved in the accident was recovered and kept at the police station. The driver and helper escaped and could not be apprehended.
