A young man named Ruhel (30) was killed by his cousin at Sarail in Brahmanbaria. The incident took place on Tuesday (February 9) evening in Mogaltula village of the upazila due to a quarrel over spitting in front of a house. The deceased was identified as Ruhel, son of Liaquat Ali of the area.
Sarail police sub-inspector (SI) Zakir Hossain Khandaker said Ruhel used to run a peddler's business in Mogultula village. Kauser, the son of his uncle Gendu Miah, who lived in the same house with him, was having a dispute over various issues. Kauser spat as he passed in front of Ruhel's house on Tuesday morning. Kauser had an argument with Ruhel and his mother about this.
He added that the two returned from work in the evening and got into an argument again in the morning. Following this, the families of Ruhel and Kausar became involved in clashes with domestic weapons. Ruhel was stabbed at that time. He died on the way to hospital with serious injuries. Kauser's father Gendu Mia and mother Amena Begum have been arrested.
