A young man named Soumik Akanji (23) died due to overeating while going to a wedding party at Durgapur in Netrokona.
The incident took place at Kamrul Islam's house in Gavina village of the upazila on Sunday afternoon. Saumik is the son of Shah Newaz Akanji, an advocate of Bhabanipur in Durgapur municipality and a student of higher secondary level.
He ate more than the quantity there. This made him sick and at one point he started vomiting. The on-duty doctor declared him dead when he was taken to Durgapur Upazila Health Complex. Durgapur Police Station OC Shah Nur A Alam said his relatives had been persuaded to bury the body without an autopsy.
An unnatural death case has been registered in this regard.
