UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has been vaccinated against coronavirus.
He took the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in New York on Thursday, local time.
A report on the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said.
The UN chief said in a tweet that he was lucky and grateful to have been vaccinated. He called on the international community to ensure that vaccines are made available to everyone on an equal footing.
No one is safe from this epidemic unless we are all safe," the UN chief wrote.
According to UN News, Adlai E. in the Bronx, just a few miles from the UN headquarters in New York. He took the vaccine at Stevenson High School.
Guterres announced last December that he would gladly take the vaccine in public. He said getting vaccinated is a moral obligation for him.
