Two youths were killed in a train collision at Malibagh in the capital. They are- Nur Islam (27) and his distant uncle. Rakib (25). The accident took place at Khidmah Hospital area on Wednesday afternoon. They were working as salesmen for ACI Limited. Meanwhile, a man named Altaf Hossain Selim (60) was killed when he was hit by a covered van in Demra this morning.

Dhaka Railway Police Station OC Rakib-ul-Hasan told Samakal that police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident. Their bodies were later recovered and sent to Dhaka Medical College Morgue for autopsy. An Unnatural Death (UD) case is being filed in this case.

Police and hospital sources said Nur Islam and Rakib were going somewhere for professional work on Wednesday afternoon. They were crossing the railway line on the opposite side of Khidmah Hospital at around 1:15 pm. They were killed when the engine of a train leaving Kamalapur station hit them.

Killed Nur Islam's cousin. Monir told Samakal that they all lived together in Shantipur in Goran area of ​​Khilgaon. In the morning they went out to their work. Dhaka Railway Police Station duty officer SI Sekandar Ali said Nur Islam and Rakib's village home is in Batta area of ​​Kendua upazila in Netrokona. Nur's father's name is Moslem Uddin and Rakib's father Md. Mostafa.

Meanwhile, the deceased was identified as Altaf Hossain Selim (60). Police and hospital sources said he lived in the Demra market area. He went out for a walk after prayers on Wednesday morning. He was hit by a covered van between Demra Staff Quarters and the intersection. He died on the spot. Although the covered van was seized, the driver escaped.
