Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has spoken out against the ban on US President Donald Trump.

According to him, the decision to ban Trump was the right one. However, he called it a "dangerous example".

He said only a handful of privately owned companies should not have control of the Internet.

In a series of 13 tweets about Trump's decision to ban Trump, Dorsey said action should be taken if the real world is harmed by someone's online statements, although the account ban is divisive and creates a precedent that I think is dangerous.

In a lengthy tweet thread, Dorsey said she was in no way celebrating or taking pride in the fact that President Donald Trump's account was banned in the wake of last week's Capitol Hill riots. The decision was made after a clear warning to Donald Trump, the Twitter chief said.

Dorsey further writes that if an organization like Twitter makes a decision that people don't like, they can go somewhere else to verify the power.

Trump has been widely criticized on social media in the wake of the Capitol attack. Dorsey has also expressed concern about this. Following Twitter, Facebook and YouTube banned Trump's account. Snapchat has been added to the latest list.
