President. Abdul Hamid convened the session on December 30 with the powers conferred by Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.
As the first session of the year, the President said. Abdul Hamid will address Parliament on the first day of the session. The President's speech has already been approved by the Cabinet.
At the beginning of the session, the Speaker presented a condolence motion. A minute's silence was observed in honor of the deceased MP and eminent persons. In the joint prayer, the members of parliament prayed for the forgiveness of their souls. Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazle Rabbi Mia conducted the munajat.
Earlier, on the occasion of Mujib Year, the special session of the National Assembly started on November 8 and lasted for 10 working days till November 19.
