A schoolgirl was allegedly raped on a motorcycle in Borhanuddin, Bhola.
The 10th class student was admitted to the hospital in critical condition in the incident on Wednesday afternoon. Police have arrested one of the accused.
Police and locals said Masud, a shop employee at Tajumuddin Bazar, and his accomplice picked up the 14-year-old girl on a motorcycle on the way home after school. Before reaching home, the two took her to an unknown place, took drugs and raped her.
Masud admitted him to Borhanuddin Upazila Health Complex in critical condition at around 3pm. Unable to stop the bleeding, he was sent to Bhola Sadar Hospital at night.
The tortured schoolgirl said she was standing in front of the school to go home at noon. At that time, Masood, a former acquaintance, picked her up on a motorcycle and raped her, telling her to take him home. Masood admitted him to the hospital in a critical condition.
Sadar Hospital Medical Officer. Md. Saidur Rahman said, the patient has been treated but the bleeding is not stopping. The next decision will be made after seeing the gynecologist.
The parents of the victim said that they were looking for their daughter after she was late returning home. The OC of the police station called in the afternoon and informed that his daughter was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the police arrested the accused Masud from the hospital. His house is in Dewanpur village of Chandpur union of Tajumuddin upazila. He is an employee of a Thaiglass shop in Tajumuddin Bazar.
Borhanuddin Police Station OC Mohammad Mazharul Amin declined to comment on the arrest of Masud without receiving a written complaint. He said he would provide information after receiving a written complaint.
