Naogaon Badalgachhi police sub-inspector (SI) Ariful Islam has been suspended for his alleged involvement in women's issues. The disciplinary action has been taken against him as he was arrested by the villagers along with his girlfriend in a house on Sunday night. A three-member investigation committee headed by Naogaon Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) KMA Mamun Khan Chishti has been formed to probe the incident.
The other two members of the investigation committee are Additional Superintendent of Police (Patnitala Circle) Tariqul Islam and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of the special branch of the district police Mosha: Suraiya Khatun.

Abdul Mannan Mia confirmed the suspension of Badalgachhi Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Ariful Islam on his mobile phone at 9pm on Tuesday and said he was suspended and attached to Naogaon Police Lines on Monday morning. An inquiry committee has been set up. The next step will be taken if the investigation committee submits the investigation report very soon.
It is learned that Naogaon Badalgachhi Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Ariful Islam called one of his alleged girlfriends at a house in Kadamgachhi village of Badalgachhi upazila on Sunday night. There are allegations that Sub-Inspector (SI) Ariful Islam was involved in anti-social activities with him. The villagers became angry after learning about this incident. They detained the woman and Sub-Inspector (SI) Ariful Islam and informed the Badalgachhi police. Police then went to the spot around 12:30 pm and rescued Sub-Inspector (SI) Ariful Islam.
Naogaon Badalgachhi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Chowdhury Jobayer Ahmed said Sub-Inspector (SI) Ariful Islam was detained by villagers, including a woman. The police went there and rescued him. The woman was released as she had no complaints.
