The Sylhet City Corporation (CSIC) has not repaired the road since it was built 15 years ago. As a result, many small and big potholes were created on the London Road in the city and it became unsuitable for vehicular traffic.

The mayor and local councilors have been told more than once that they have not taken any initiative to improve the roads. Finally, in the early hours of the Christian New Year, a local social organization called Agrani Tarun Sangha repaired the road through voluntary work.

The members of this organization renovated various parts of London Road from 12 noon on Thursday to 4 am on Friday. President of Agrani Tarun Sangha Zahirul Islam Mishu, former president Russell Ahmed Chowdhury Raju, vice president Shah Mohammad were present during the night road reform. Lokman Ali, General Secretary Masuduzzaman Tafadar Muktar, Rafiq Mia, Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury, Amir Hossain and others.

Zahirul Islam Mishu, president of Agrani Tarun Sangha, said the Sylhet City Corporation had not taken any further initiative to renovate the road after its construction 15 years ago. Despite repeated contacts, they did not take any action. The condition of roads and drains in the London Road area is also very fragile. For this we have tried to fill some gaps on behalf of Agrani Tarun Sangha Club. If the City Corporation's tone is shaken.

London Road divides most of the boundaries of wards 7 and 8 of Sylhet City Corporation. Acknowledging the dilapidated condition of the road, Iliashur Rahman, councilor of the city's 8th ward, said projects have already been undertaken to renovate London Road. The renovation work will start soon by inviting tenders.
